What video formats can I compress?

CRF (Constant Rate Factor) controls the quality-to-filesize ratio. Lower values (18-23) produce better quality but larger files. Higher values (28-35) create smaller files with more compression. We recommend 23-28 for most uses.
How long does video compression take?
Compression time depends on video length, resolution, and the preset you choose. "Ultra Fast" completes quickly but produces larger files, while "Very Slow" takes longer but achieves better compression.
Will compression affect video quality?
Some quality loss is inherent in compression, but at CRF 23-28 with "Medium" preset, the difference is usually imperceptible. Downscaling resolution significantly reduces file size with minimal visible impact.
